Amazing Grace Food Pantry had the privilege to honor the
past year of awesome volunteers at our 3rd annual
Volunteer Appreciation Celebration
We LOVE our volunteers and depend upon them every week
for their hard work, dedication and commitment.
Each volunteer received a Certificate of Appreciation, signed by Michael Ellis (our Founder, President and CEO), Damaris Lawson (North Texas Food Bank) and Wylie Mayor Eric Hogue. Damaris and Mayor Hogue are important members of our pantry family, helping us to help more families in need in Collin County. Volunteers also enjoyed door prizes ranging from restaurant gift cards to a Dell computer.
The Board of Directors and Team Leads pitched in to share their cooking skills with smoked turkey, ham, brisket and all the Texas sides you’d expect. Nothing Bundt Cakes and 2 Crazy Bakers donated their mouth-watering sweets.
Clark Sutton, our Director of Education, and his wife Ann, work many ministries with kids. They coordinated a Craft Corner where the youngsters created colorful posters about Fighting Hunger Together. These posters will be proudly displayed at the pantry for volunteers and tours to enjoy.
Guest speakers presented the hunger facts
- AGFP’s 2018 pounds distributed and projections for 2019 from Mike Ellis (AGFP CEO).
- Wylie Mayor Eric Hogue spoke on the growing population in Collin County which will lead to more families in need as well as more seniors needing assistance.
- NTFB Team Lead Damaris Lawson spoke how Amazing Grace Food Pantry has grown over the years and how important Partner Agencies like AGFP is to the mission of North Texas Food Bank.
Special Thanks goes to:
Mayor Eric Hogue and NTFB Team Lead Damaris Lawson for taking time to share their hearts with us on their weekend!
Students from Wylie Prep Academy and their leaders Jason and Kelly Decker who took time from Spring Break to greet guests, serve the food and clean up – great group of young adults.
